Meet the New Boss: Same as the Old Boss

Won't Get Fooled Again

The Who

(Revised 3/13/26)

Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has just taken the stage. It seems he will follow the same playbook his late father used to govern the country for the previous 36 years.

Trump and his team were misguided to think this would be an easy task, as it was during their brief military intervention in Venezuela. Following his father's death, the new Supreme Leader wasted no time issuing direct threats against any oil tankers considering navigating the Strait of Hormuz.

His warning to the surrounding Gulf nations was equally blunt: shut down your U.S. military bases or prepare for a relentless barrage. Iran has already backed these threats with action, launching over 1,500 drones and ballistic missiles at U.S. assets and host nations like Bahrain, Qatar, and the UAE.

Targeting Civilians

They are not just targeting soldiers; they are striking civilian hubs—hotels, airports, and shopping malls. This sends a clear message to anyone who chooses to stand with the West.

As the FBI forewarned yesterday, we cannot lower our guard on domestic soil. Remember 9/11? It is time to recall the last time regional tensions spilled onto our streets. FBI Director Kash Patel has already placed counterterrorism teams on "high alert" for potential retaliatory strikes within the U.S.

The Asymmetric Threat

The threat is asymmetric and terrifyingly simple. Iran aims to exploit our weaknesses with targeted and relatively inexpensive drone strikes against our missile defense systems. This strategy is designed to wear down our reserves and force the U.S. to spend more.

Regarding oil, the Iranians have shown a willingness to cripple the oil industry. They are mining the Persian Gulf to hinder the world's reliance on fossil fuels. The Iranians excel at this cat-and-mouse game, adept at challenging larger and stronger foes. They are prepared for what we certainly do not want: another Forever War. It is doubtful the country— including Trump's faithful and loyal backers—will stand for this.

The Digital Front

We are already witnessing the digital front open up. Iran-linked hackers, such as "Handala," are crippling global systems at medical giants like Stryker in retaliation for recent strikes.

As our U.S. and Israeli missiles continue to disrupt water, oil, and electricity, reports of tragic "targeting mistakes" emerge. One such mistake was a strike on an Iranian girls' elementary school that killed over 160 children. We are losing the very secular contingent that was supposed to bridge the gap between leaderships. Instead, we find ourselves in an $11.3 billion war game that costs an average of $1 billion more every single day.

Feeding on Hatreds

They have dug in for the long haul, feeding on age-old hatreds. What is the reason for this expensive, whimsical playground game? Our leader seems to have no clue, perhaps concocting these strategies in his own bubble of isolation while preoccupied with personal comfort. Meanwhile, our supposed proxies in Congress have been largely excluded from the discussion and planning.

Hence, we are in the dark, funding a futile adventure with our own taxpayer dollars as gas prices surge toward $100 a barrel and inflation follows suit.

Questioning Leadership

Who put this joker in charge, anyway? A convicted felon and habitual liar with the emotional maturity of a toddler now runs the most powerful country in the world. We have given him the power to pardon grifters and treasonous marauders, along with the authority to launch a nuclear strike between rants on Truth Social.

Thanks, Trump. You may continue to fool your base with whatever antics you pull out of your sleeve. However, your detractors will not go along with this idiotic war game with no rules and no endgame in sight. You cannot run from this horrific miscalculation or cover the damage with lies.

A Call to Action

We will return the favor in November. Based on this international debacle and its earth-shaking ramifications, we should have plenty of votes to flip both houses of Congress. We can proceed with impeachment and conviction. A new game will begin, with the odds in our favor.

In conclusion, it is crucial that we remain vigilant and engaged. The stakes are high, and the future of our nation depends on our ability to confront these challenges head-on. Let us work together to promote progressive values and drive social change through informed discourse and community engagement.
